Dickens School Lunch Program

The Charles Dickens Elementary PAC runs a weekly Hot Lunch Fundraiser.  This optional program provides our children with a variety of lunch options and gives you a break from packing lunches once a week!  The PAC aims to offer healthy lunch options throughout the year.  All proceeds from this program will benefit classroom and student programs at school.

Very Important Notes:

• The deadline to order is every Wednesday at 7pm for the following week’s lunch service. For example: For our first lunch delivery this year on Thursday, October 3rd, your order will need to be placed by Wednesday, September 25th at 7pm. The site is open and ready to accept orders for the 2024-25 school year.

• New parent registration can be found at https://munchalunch.com/register 

• Returning parents can login at https://munchalunch.com/login

• Be sure to supply re-usable cutlery to your child(ren) as it is not provided by the school or food vendor

In addition to our regular hot lunch delivery, a once-a-month pizza delivery has been added to our program. Orders are placed through the same MunchaLunch domain as you would use to order Hot Lunch.

 

Deliveries are booked for the following dates:

Tuesday January 14th,2025

Tuesday February 11th, 2025

Tuesday March 11th, 2025

 

The deadline to order is the Saturday before delivery at 12:00pm for the following week’s lunch service. 

o For example: Pizza delivery on Tuesday January 14th, your order will need to be placed by Saturday, January 11th at 12:00pm.

Hot Lunches at the Main & Annex Schools

We have a NEW vendor for our Hot Lunch Fundraiser! 

This optional program gives our children fun lunch options and gives you a break from packing lunches once a week.  

Beginning Thursday, March 30th, we will be teaming with Bittersweet Kitchen, and switching to the Munch-a-Lunch online ordering platform.

E.g. for our first lunch delivery with Bittersweet Kitchen on Thursday, March 30th, your order will need to be placed by Wednesday, March 22 at 11:59pm. The site is now open and ready to accept orders.

NOTE, re: Foodie Kids Orders 

Foodie Kids and its Foodeaze ordering site will provide lunch delivery up to and including March 9th, 2023.  For parents/guardians who have pre-ordered meals for future dates after Spring Break, your orders will be cancelled and a refund will be provided by this vendor.

Hot Lunch Program

We are excited to announce the return of our hot lunch program every Thursday - we're relaunching with our pre-pandemic provider, Foodie Kids!

  

You will be able to order directly from Foodie Kids through their online ordering platform at foodeaze.ca and a portion of the cost of each lunch will come back to the Dickens Community.  

See this link for detailed instructions on how to set up your account, place an order and make payment.  Here is a copy of the menu and themed menu calendar ("Theme Days"). 

On the menu, you will see a section with items that are “Always Available” and then there are items on "Theme Days" that are only available on certain days. These days rotate and you will see these additional menu items on the ordering platform when they are available.

The ordering deadline is each Wednesday (by midnight) the week prior to hot lunch day!  

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Some parents and guardians may already have an account that may still be active from the time we previously used Foodie Kids. It is important to log in and ensure that you change the grade/division of your child(ren) under your profile, otherwise your order will be delivered to the wrong division and be packaged in the wrong bag.

• Parents and Guardians will order directly through the vendor's ordering platform: foodeaze.ca

• Ordering deadline is each Wednesday (by midnight) the week prior to lunch delivery.

• Parents and Guardians will need to send cutlery to school with their child(ren)! Cutlery will not be provided by the vendor in the interest of doing our part in reducing plastic waste.

• Payment method: Credit Card.

🍎 New Hot Lunch Program at Main School! 🍎

We hope you're excited about the trial Hot Lunch Program at Dickens Main!  

Trial Dates: Fridays, March 4 and March 11 

C'est Mon Café caters to 25 elementary schools: All lunches are cooked in the morning, individually packed into paper lunch boxes, and sorted into insulated lunch bags by Division numbers. Their catering equipment and kitchen facilities are fully approved by Vancouver Coastal Health.

Important Details:
