Notes from Math Guest Speaker - Jacob Martens
This past Wednesday evening, February 21, Jacob Martens, Mathematics Coordinator for the Delta School District, spoke to Dickens Parents & Guardians on various aspects of elementary school math, and how it's taught in today's classrooms.

Dickens Ultimate Frisbee Club - Volunteers Needed!
The
Ultimate Club will be starting up again this Spring 2018 - this is yet another initiative that's been funded by the Dickens PAC for a number of years.
It will take place after school, beginning mid to late April (proposing Tuesdays & Thursdays). The season will be about 7 weeks in total at the main school.
Parent/Guardian VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! If you can assist with practices after school on these days, you can contact Dickens parent, Todd Hickling at: todd@toddhickling.com or speak to Dickens teacher, Jeanette Inglis (Div. 15, Room 207) - Thank you!

Webinar — What does the New Curriculum mean for your Children?
As part of Vancouver DPAC's General Meeting on Thursday, February 22 at 7pm, there will be a presentation for Parents & Guardians on the new curriculum titled: "Educational Transformation: What does the new curriculum mean for your children?"
This presentation will be co-presented by:
- Jan Unwin - Superintendent of Graduation and Transitions, Ministry of Education
- Suzanne Hoffman - Superintendent, Vancouver School Board, former Superintendent of Learning, Ministry of Education
